Australian James Davison, making just his second NASCAR Xfinity Series start of the season, ended up fastest in Saturday’s final practice session at Road America.

Brennan Poole, Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet
Austin Cindric, Brad Keselowski Racing Ford
Cole Custer, Stewart-Haas Racing Ford
Justin Marks, Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet

Davison, who finished fourth at Mid-Ohio earlier this month for Joe Gibbs Racing, had the fastest average lap speed of 108.691 mph, which he set on the first of his six laps during the 55-minute session.

Davison, who has made three starts in the Indianapolis 500, made his Xfinity Series debut last season at this race in Mario Gosselin’s No. 90 Chevrolet.

Justin Marks, who was fastest in Saturday’s first session and making his second start this season for Chip Ganassi Racing, ended up second quick (108.614 mph).

Austin Cindric, making his first series start in Sunday’s Johnsonville 180 with Team Penske, was third-fastest, Cole Custer was fourth and Brennan Poole completed the top-five.

The session ended a bit prematurely when Nicolas Hammann got stuck in the gravel trap in Turn 3 and had to be extricated.

Completing the top-10 on the speed chart: Ryan Reed, Justin Allgaier, Daniel Hemric, Casey Mears and Ben Kennedy.

There were two other full-course cautions during the session – one for the stopped car of Spencer Gallagher and another for the stopped car of Parker Kligerman. Both teams reported fuel pressure issues at the time of their respective incidents.
