Justin Allgaier locked himself into the Championship 4 with a tenth-place finish at Phoenix Raceway, but his No. 7 JR Motorsports Chevrolet failed post-race inspection.

The car was found to have an unsealed brake cooling hose, leading to an L1 penalty.

As a result, crew chief Jason Burdett has been fined $10,000 and suspended from the next NASCAR Xfinity Series points event, which happens to be the title-decider at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The team and driver were also assessed with the loss of 10 driver and owner points. However, Allgaier's cushion over fifth in the standings was enough for that not to impact his championship eligibility.

JR Motorsports will have the opportunity to appeal the suspension in an expedited process this week, if they so wish.
