MARCOS AMBROSE, No. 47 Little Debbie/Glad Toyota Camry, JTG-Daugherty Racing
Starting Position: 1st
How exciting was your qualifying run? "The track was in great condition -- it was nice and cool. There was good grip. All of us were in qualifying trim somewhat with high tire pressures. We were always going to go fast, but I didn't expect to go that fast. Joey (Logano) was just telling me he thinks I need a bodyguard for tomorrow if I beat Canada from the pole position. We're really excited about it. It's a good day for us. I didn't expect to get the pole. I didn't think my car was good enough in practice. We made a lot of changes to it and it looks like they have all been good ones."
JACQUES VILLENEUVE, No. 32 Dollar General Toyota Camry, Braun Racing
Starting Position: 2nd
How was your battle for the pole during qualifying? "It was fun. The car has been good all day. We concentrated mainly to be sure the car would be good on old tires and on long runs. It worked fine for qualifying. We felt we had a shot at the pole and the Dollar General crew worked really hard -- was great. Just made a little mistake in the hairpin and that cost the pole today. We're both -- Marcos (Ambrose) and I -- were a little bit on the limit. It's great to be on the front row with him. He's a tremendous road racer with past results here and at the (Watkins) Glen. It's really good to be starting on the front row. It might help us to avoid being caught in some incidents at the start and we can have a strong race."
JOEY LOGANO, No. 20 GameStop Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing
Starting Position: 3rd
What happened during your qualifying run? "My first lap I looked like a bird without feathers out there. I looked terrible. It looked like my first time out there. I calmed down and got a good lap and that was my second lap. And I thought that second lap was going to be a good until I hit the grass that I threw out on the race track. Then the third time the track was clean and I had a good lap."
What happened during your qualifying run? "It's a good lap for us. The fastest we've been all day. I left some out there. There's some little bit here, little bit there, but I overdrive the first two laps. The third time I really had to calm down and make the lap right. That's what the car had and not any extra. I didn't have the extra four-tenths that I obviously had in me. I needed to run a consistent lap and that was about it."
JASON LEFFLER, No. 38 Great Clips Toyota Camry, Braun Racing
Starting Position: 6th
How was your qualifying run? "The car is good. I just overdrove a lap. The track is slicker than what it was. I thought it would have a little more grip, but I guess with the prototype cars having that long race it seemed to be a little slicker, and I overdrove it. Those two things don't go together. I'm really happy with the way the car is handling and running. Obviously, brakes are an issue here. It seems like we get a lap-and-a-half out of them before they fade, but that's across the board no matter what brand you have (of brakes). That will make for a good race tomorrow."
BRAD COLEMAN, No. 18 Safeway Driving Centers Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing
Starting Position: 10th
PATRICK CARPENTIER, No. 00 NAPA Toyota Camry, Michael Waltrip Racing
Starting Position: 13th
ROBBY GORDON, No. 07 Mapei/Menards Toyota Camry, Robby Gordon Motorsports
Starting Position: 16th
What happened during your qualifying run? "We beat ourselves consistently in this sport for some reason. Locked up the brakes and looks like it caught a brake hose. I don't know why it would catch a brake hose even if it locked up the brakes. But, it pulled off the B-blower and the brake hose on the left front. It's going to be interesting for us."
How challenging would it be to have to start from the rear of the field? "I think you could probably throw it in the trash. Kind of wasted the weekend. I'm hugely disappointed. I don't understand why. Obviously, we'll figure it out. We changed brake pads before going into qualifying and that was probably a mistake because I had to wind around four rounds to the rear brakes. One day shows make it tough. You have to be on it and we missed it."
STEVE WALLACE, No. 66 5-Hour Energy Toyota Camry, Rusty Wallace Racing
Starting Position: 18th
BRENDAN GAUGHAN, No. 62 South Point Casino & Hotel Toyota Camry, Rusty Wallace Racing
Starting Position: 19th
TREVOR BAYNE, No. 99 OUT! Pet Care Toyota Camry, Diamond-Waltrip Racing
Starting Position: 20th
How was your qualifying run? "Slick -- I thought we were going to crash the first lap. The tires took at least two or three laps to come in -- they got there at the third lap. I don't know. It's decent for us. That's our fastest time of the weekend. These guys that are coming up (in qualifying) are going to be really fast. It's only our third Nationwide road course race together, and my fifth one ever in my career. So, we have a lot to learn, but we're still doing okay."
