STREMME LEADS FINAL PRACTICE IN MILWAUKEE
--Teammate Steve Wallace among Contenders at The Milwaukee Mile--
WEST ALLIS, WI (June 21, 2008)--Continuing his strong record at The Milwaukee Mile, Team Atreus Homes & Communities Rusty Wallace Racing driver, David Stremme, posted the fastest lap in this afternoon's final practice session for tonight's Camping World 250. Stremme and his No. 64 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS toured the legendary 1.0-mile oval in 30.019 seconds (119.924 MPH); his lap was also the fastest lap of the day overall by nearly one-tenth of a second.
Stremme's Milwaukee record includes one pole and three top-five finishes in four starts.
Noted Stremme, "Our team has so much momentum right now and I feel like we have a really good car for tonight's race. I could go just about anywhere I needed to go on the track, so we'll see what happens tonight. It's a long race, but winning at Milwaukee would mean everything in the world to me; hopefully we'll be there at the end and have a chance to go for it."
Stremme's teammate, driver of the No. 66 Team Jimmy John's Rusty Wallace Racing Chevrolet, Steve Wallace, showed strength in the final practice as well. Wallace ranked 12th fastest of the 40+ drivers taking time. His fastest lap of 30.392 seconds (118.452 MPH) occurred on his 33rd of 34 lap the session.
Said Wallace, "I feel we have a pretty solid car for tonight. I could have gone faster on my mock qualifying run, but we just wanted to get a feel for our car's balance in qualifying trim. We go out first in qualifying, so we probably won't have a great starting spot. Our car was solid in race trim though, so we'll work our way up there. It's a long race and we plan to be up front at the end."
