Carfax makes fourth trip to mis for NASCAR nationwide series race; CARFAX 250 to Be Held at Michigan International Speedway on Aug. 15
BROOKLYN, Mich. (May 1, 2009) -- Carfax will return to Michigan International Speedway (MIS) as title sponsor of the NASCAR Nationwide Series CARFAX 250 race for the fourth straight year. This year's event takes place on Aug. 15 at the Brooklyn, Mich., racetrack. Carfax continues its support of the home of the American automobile and its ongoing investment in Michigan-based sports.
"We're delighted to see Carfax continue their commitment to our community," said Scott Green, Used Car Manager at Suburban Chevrolet in Ann Arbor, Mich. "Our customers get great used cars at Suburban and Carfax helps make that possible. Used car dealers and consumers throughout Michigan will benefit from their continued support."
This year marks the fourth time Carfax is sponsoring the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at MIS. Dale Earnhardt Jr. won the inaugural CARFAX 250 in 2006, followed by Denny Hamlin in 2007 and Columbia, Mo., native Carl Edwards last year. Carfax was founded in Columbia, Mo., in 1986 and maintains its data center there.
"It's great to be back again at MIS for the CARFAX 250," said Bill Eager, vice president of the dealer business unit at Carfax. "For years, Carfax has helped dealers across Michigan and the rest of the country build consumer confidence and sell used cars faster. Carfax and its dealer customers welcome the millions of NASCAR fans back for another unforgettable day of racing."
The Carfax 250 will be televised live starting at 3:30pm ET Saturday, August 15 on ESPN2. Tickets for the race can be purchased by calling the MIS ticket hotline at 1-800-354-1010 or by logging on to www.MISpeedway.com.
"This extended relationship with Carfax demonstrates the strength of MIS and NASCAR's Nationwide Series as viable marketing platforms to grow business and successfully reach consumers," MIS President Roger Curtis said. "Carfax is a proven and trusted leader in providing vehicle history reports to consumers. We are pleased to have them return to MIS and look forward to building upon our past successes well into the future."
