FIRST TIMER: Richard Boswell will make his NASCAR Nationwide Series debut this weekend at Memphis Motorsports Park in the No. 5 RCCA Chevrolet.
RACING RESUME - At the age of 25, Boswell's resume includes four years piloting JRM's late model entries in both the USAR and the UARA Series. In 58 races, Boswell has earned three wins (Old Dominion Speedway, Lonesome Pines Speedway and Motor Mile Speedway) 18 top-fives, 34 top-10 finishes and six poles. Prior to joining JRM, he graduated with honors, from the motorsports engineering program at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
STATS AT MEMPHIS - The No. 5 Chevrolet has one start at Memphis. In 2008, Landon Cassill drove to a 13th-place finish after starting eighth.
SEAT SWAP - Boswell is the seventh different driver to climb into the driver's seat of the No. 5 Chevrolet this year. He joins Dale Earnhardt Jr. (7 races), Ron Fellows (2), Mark Martin (1), Ryan Newman (4), Tony Stewart (1) and Scott Wimmer (6) as other drivers to race this season. Additionally Earnhardt Jr., Newman, Stewart and Wimmer rank as having led laps behind the wheel of the No. 5.
CHASSIS INFO - The No. 5 RCCA team will run chassis 444. This chassis raced at Milwaukee in 2009, and last month at Richmond.
BOSWELL (Thought on attempting first NNS race?) - "Racing the No. 5 Chevrolet was something we have been talking about for a while now. We were finally able to make it happen, because we had the resources and people in place at JR Motorsports to attempt this at Memphis. I'm absolutely thrilled at the opportunity.
"It's definitely a little overwhelming coming in here and racing guys that are the best at what they do, but this is probably the best chance I'm going to get to prove myself. I really just want to come in here, qualify for the race and get a solid finish. I think if we're able to do that, I will call it a success."
JRM CO-OWNER, DALE EARNHARDT JR. (On Boswell's talent) - "Boswell is a tremendous talent, and he has done well with our late model program. He's been with the company for several years, and we feel like he's earned this opportunity to race at Memphis. The No. 5 team has tested with him, and he's a solid short-track racer, so we're hopeful for positive results at Memphis."
