Rick Ware Racing (RWR) heads to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the running of the Sam's Town 300 on Saturday. Stanton Barrett returns in the #31 Fuel Doctor USA/EZ-Slider Cylinders Chevy in hopes of redemption from the Daytona crash nearly two weeks ago.
"I love racing at Vegas," stated Stanton Barrett. "This configuration really fits my driving style and we have brought a really nice piece as well. This car qualified 11th at Charlotte and it is the same car that Tim Andrews ran so well with in 2009".
Barrett looks for revenge from the 2009 running of the Sam's Town 300. "We were running 12th with just 15 laps to go when we lost a cylinder and limped around to a 27th place finish. That is something we struggled with at the beginning of last year with the Wegner motors but that's not the case with the Earnhardt-Childress motors."
Gary Cogswell returns as Crew Chief for Barrett in the Nationwide Series this weekend. "I've had a lot of success and top 5's here at LVMS with Marcos Ambrose. Honestly, I think this is the best car I've seen in years and expect to see Stanton give it a great run this weekend," claimed Cogswell.
The week is full of activities as Stanton Barrett and Chrissy Wallace will participate in the Dale Earnhardt Foundations 1st Annual Celebrity Poker Tournament at the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino on Thursday at 4pm.
In addition to the Poker Tournament, Brett Butler will be signing autographs at several different Best Buy locations around the Las Vegas area on Thursday in conjunction with Fuel Doctor USA. Chrissy Wallace will be joining Brett at locations on Friday and Saturday as well.
