Kyle Busch will be making his return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series in this weekend's race at Michigan International Speedway, driving the No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota for JGR.

As it's been well-documented, Busch suffered leg injuries in the Xfinity season-opener at Daytona which put him on the sidelines for three months, missing the first eleven Sprint Cup events as a result.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of the 54 Monster Energy Toyota this weekend,” Busch said in a statement. “I can’t say enough about how much Monster Energy, JGR and all my guys have helped me and pulled for me to get back into the Xfinity car. This is a continuation of my recovery since Daytona, and we hope to continue to add to my schedule going forward through the rest of the year.

“I’m looking forward to working with Chris Gayle again and I’m optimistic for a good run at Michigan. If I remember it right, my last run here in the No. 54 started off strong, we didn’t get the finish we wanted then, but I look to redeem that this week.”

Busch has a series-high 70 Xfinity victories, including seven in 2014. Erik Jones, Denny Hamlin and Boris Said have driven that No. 54 this year and all have failed to reach Victory Lane while behind the wheel.

It is unknown what Busch's Xfinity and Truck plans are for the remainder of this season, outside of this weekend's race at Michigan.
