BRAUN RETURNS TO THE NO. 16 - Colin Braun will be getting back in the No. 16 Con-way Freight Ford this weekend in Kansas after giving way to Roush Fenway Racing teammates Matt Kenseth and Erik Darnell for three past races. Braun's last start in the No. 16 was at Montreal where he started 14th and finished 22nd after a late-race accident.
KANSAS CHASSIS SELECTION - Crew chief Rick Viers has selected RK-356 for this weekend's Kansas Lottery 300 at Kansas Speedway. This car was last raced by Brian Ickler in his first start at Bristol Motor Speedway where he finished 19th.
Braun, on returning to the No. 16 team at Kansas: "I'm obviously excited to be getting back in the Con-way Freight Ford this weekend at Kansas. It is a place where I have been fortunate enough to do well in the Truck Series and I'm hopeful to continue that trend in my first Nationwide Series start. The Con-way Freight team has done a great job of achieving our goal of reaching the top-15 in the owner's point standings and I want to be able to keep moving in that direction toward the 12th spot which is our next goal. We are 150 points out, but we can start chipping away at it this weekend with a solid finish."
Crew chief Rick Viers, on the trip to Kansas: "Kansas has been a good track for Colin [Braun] in the Truck Series and in last year's race the No. 16 car finished fifth. We have continued to work hard on our cars and stay focused as a team. I feel we can be very competitive this week in Kansas. After some consistent finishes, we have finally been able to reach the top-15 in owner points. We now have our sights set on 12th, which is only 150 points away."
