Gibbs' team files lawsuit against Trans-Lux company

The Trans-Lux company got to celebrate in a NASCAR Nationwide victory lane when its first foray into team sponsorship ended with a Joey Logano win at California Speedway on March 24.

The debut will apparently be the only opportunity Trans-Lux has with Joe Gibbs Racing however, as the North Carolina-based NASCAR team has sued Trans-Lux for not fulfilling the terms of its sponsorship contract.

The company, which makes Fair Play scoreboards and timers for arenas and football fields, was contracted to be the primary sponsor of Denny Hamlin’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series car in an unnamed race this season.

JGR filed a lawsuit alleging the non payment on Aug. 3 in North Carolina Superior Court in Charlotte. The lawsuit filing does not include the amount of the sponsorship, but includes a request to be awarded money for damages in excess of $10,000.
