Landon Cassill was among those who lost the fuel gamble.
LOUDON, N.H. – It was a freaky finish, and Landon Cassill was slammed by it.
Cassill was among those who lost the gamble. He ran out of gas on lap 204 and stopped on the inside of the track, causing the sixth of seven cautions. Fortunately, Mike Wallace, Cassill’s JD Motorsports with Gary Keller teammate, was still on the track. Wallace gave Cassill a push to get him rolling again, and the No. 4 Chevrolet finished 30th.
“That’s not a fun position to be in, but everybody was trying to stretch the fuel and it looked like the race was never going to end,” Cassill said. “We were just in the unlucky group that didn’t make it.”
Cassill raced in the high 20s before running into the late-race issues.
