SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. (Oct. 6, 2010) -- David Hasselhoff is ready to take the stage at Auto Club Speedway to perform the National Anthem for the CampingWorld.com 300 NNS race on Saturday, Oct. 9. Fans can catch Hasselhoff's performance and the CampingWorld.com 300 live on ESPN 2, starting at 1:30 p.m. PDT.
Hasselhoff, listed in the Guinness Book of Records as "The Most Watched TV Star in the World", began his acting career in "The Young and the Restless" as Dr. Snapper Foster and then starred as Michael Knight in the show "Knight Rider." This role earned him the People's Choice Award for Most Popular Actor. His most popular role was next when he starred in "Baywatch." The show ran for 11 years and is still viewed in 140 countries by over one billion viewers every week. He has starred in several feature films, on stage and has had a remarkable musical career garnering 40 gold and platinum records worldwide. Hasselhoff just completed recording an album with award winning Broadway composer Frank Wildhorn.
Hasselhoff and his daughters, Taylor Ann and Hayley will also launch a new reality show on A&E titled "Meet the Hasselhoff's." The program is set to premier at the end of the year.
Throughout his extraordinary television career, Hasselhoff has also appeared in feature films such as Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story and Adam Sandler's Click. Off screen, he has recorded multiple albums, one that has gone triple platinum, starred in the Broadway musical Jekyll & Hyde, in London's West End production of Chicago, and The Producers in Las Vegas. His autobiography, "Making Waves," was published by Hodder & Stoughton in the UK and made the Best Seller list. A US release titled "Don't Hassel the Hoff" was published by Thomas Dunne books, a division of St. Martin's Press. Due to its success, "Making Waves" was just re-issued in Austria where it appeared at # 8 on the non-fiction charts.
