Kasey Kahne's goal at Dover: Take long-time sponsor Great Clips back to victory lane
* Kahne back in the seat of the No. 38 Great Clips Camry at Dover Int'l Speedway... This weekend at Dover International Speedway (DIS), Kahne will make his second of three consecutive starts for Braun Racing in the No. 38 entry. Kahne drove the No. 38 Great Clips machine for three seasons for team owner, Doug Stringer, under the Akins Motorsports banner. He is slated to run a total of eight races this season in the No. 38.
* Who's on the pit box? Stewart Cooper will call the shots for Kahne and serve as crew chief for the No. 38 Great Clips team in the eight races that he is behind the wheel.
Kahne on the racing at "The Monster Mile"
"The key is having a car that can still handle well 30-40 laps into a run and staying out of trouble. Dover is an easy place to get in trouble and once you are in trouble, it's a place that can end your day in a hurry. It's definitely one of the more mentally and physically demanding tracks that we go to. I'm looking forward to another race with the Great Clips team this weekend. We had a great run last weekend at Darlington and think we could have had a shot at it if it would have stayed green there at the end. I think Stewart Cooper (crew chief) and I work together well and all of those guys just do a great job preparing race cars. We are getting closer and closer to getting Great Clips back into victory lane so hopefully we can get that done this weekend at Dover."
The No. 38 Great Clips team will hit the track with chassis #033 in this weekend's Heluva Good! 200. This chassis last saw track time at Bristol Motor Speedway, where Kahne led for 22 laps before being caught up in an accident. Nicknamed "Golden Child," this is the same chassis Kyle Busch drove to victory lane at Charlotte Motor Speedway in the spring of 2008.
