Dover's 'Incredible Hero' Mother Displays Life Long Servant Heart

Gloria Park has been selfless and giving all of her life. For 44 years she worked at the same job in upstate New York. Traveling an hour to work each way, she would get up at 3:30 so she could be home by 3:15 to pick her son, Jake, up from the school bus. Gloria's love and dedication for her son can be seen throughout his life. Jake had a passion for NASCAR and every year Gloria and her husband would take him to the Daytona 500.

Jake was so passionate about racing that she bought him his first racecar when he was 5 years old. Soon after receiving his racecar, Jake started competing in go-kart classes. Gloria volunteered to cut the grass and run the concession stand at the speedway where Jake was competing. She would often prepare food at home ahead of time in order to watch her son race. She continued to support Jake through the years as he pursued his passion of racing. Amazingly, even with Gloria's hectic schedule, she found time to take Jake to Boy Scouts' events, baseball and basketball games, sleepovers, and attend nearly every single event he participated in.

Even after all the time, money and effort she put into helping make her son's dreams come true, Gloria also volunteered in any way she could for her community. She currently volunteers at her local fire department, helps organize community events, raises money for countless causes and is always eager to lend a helping hand. She is known throughout her community as a dependable person others can go to when they need help. Gloria devotes everything she has to helping others and never asks for anything in return, a true servant.

Gloria Park's values, beliefs, contagious personality, and her selfless giving nature are what make her a hero not only in the eyes of her son, but everyone who meets her.

For her dedication to giving back to her community and being a great mother, Gloria Park will be honored as this week's 'Incredible Hero' at Dover International Speedway.

The 'Incredible Heroes' are extended an invite to attend the NASCAR Nationwide Series race as guests of CJM Racing and the America's Incredible Pizza Company. Each hero receives a plaque in recognition of their heroism and they spend a VIP day at the race track.
