Michael Annett and Germain Racing's No. 15 Pilot Travel Centers Team Have High Expectations for 2010 NASCAR Nationwide Series Season
Daytona Beach, Fla. (February 9, 2010) -- The off-season at Germain Racing has been full of activity with the No. 15 NASCAR Nationwide Series team preparing cars for an optimistic 2010 season. Concentrating on goals and working together as a team to try and achieve them, Michael Annett and his No. 15 Pilot Travel Centers team have regrouped throughout the months with no scheduled competition and are now getting close to the race they've all been anxiously awaiting -- the 2010 season opener at Daytona International Speedway.
"I'm so excited that I've been counting down the days until this race," said Annett, "We're heading into the 2010 season with high expectations. I think the first thing we want to accomplish is to be steadily running in the top-five week in and week out. If we put ourselves in that position, we're going to put ourselves in position to win races, and that's our ultimate goal."
"I can hardly wait for Michael and the No. 15 team to get on the track at Daytona," said team owner Bob Germain, "I'm confident we'll run up front and have a chance to win the race Saturday. Michael did such a great job in his rookie year, especially the second have of the season. 2010 will be an exciting year to be Nationwide Series racing and the No. 15 team will be very competitive"
Crew Chief Ryan Fugle reiterated that thought, "We expect to go down to Daytona to compete for the win. Yes, we've set our expectations high, but I don't hesitate saying we've got the driver and team to do it. We've worked really hard rebuilding and refurbishing cars during the off-season. We've put a great deal of time, effort and pride into this team. Daytona is the biggest race of the year. We'd really like to start off with a bang to build momentum for the season ahead."
As a former Daytona winner in the 2008 ARCA 200, Daytona's 2.5 mile superspeedway has always generated a spark in Annett.
"Daytona is a special place. I always look forward to racing there, and a lot of it is probably because of my ARCA win there," said Annett, "I was in Daytona for Preseason Thunder Fan Fest back in January this year, and that just really got me itching to get back to racing. I'm glad to be here in Daytona starting off my second full-season with Germain Racing contending for the 2010 Nationwide Series championship. We couldn't be more thankful for the return of our sponsors for 2010. Pilot Travel Centers is back on board with the team, and we're very happy to continue our partnership with them. I've got a great team behind me. All the guys put their heart and soul into making this team successful. We've all been long awaiting this race, and can't wait to go racing this weekend!"
