Specialty Racing returned to the NASCAR Nationwide Series for 2009 and driver Brandon Whitt will start 39th in Saturday's Camping World 300 at the Daytona International Speedway. Whitt qualified the entry during Friday's afternoon session and now is preparing for Saturday's race.

The team, based in Statesville, N.C., is owned by Doug Taylor and Charles Shoffner. Whitt returns for his second season as the operation continues to grow and search for partners to move the team forward. The team plans to compete in the entire Nationwide schedule and brings a wealth of experience and a young, former winner in Whitt.

Comments from driver Brandon Whitt after qualifying at Daytona:

"It's important to know that some cars aren't good by themselves, but draft really well. I think this car handles great and we can race with these guys tomorrow. We weren't expecting a lot from today.

"This is a team that has a lot of experience with Doug and Charles. They are professionals and want to do the right thing. A little support and I know we can do some good things. But, we can still do a lot with what we have now, too, and that's what we want to show tomorrow."
