FIRST START IN THE FIVE - Scott Wimmer will make his JR Motorsports debut this weekend in the No. 5 Fastenal Chevy at Darlington Raceway. He has raced in six of the nine Nationwide Series events in 2009 for Key Motorsports. His best finish was 11th at Las Vegas. Wimmer is one of five drivers in the No. 5 carousel this season and is slated for six races.
FASTENAL RETURNS - For the first time since its JRM debut at Texas Motor Speedway in early April, Fastenal will be the primary scheme on the No. 5 Chevrolet this weekend for the Diamond Hill Plywood 200. This marks the second of its 14 races with JR Motorsports in a sponsorship deal that was announced in January.
WIMMER AT DARLINGTON - Wimmer has seven starts at the 1.3-mile egg-shaped oval with one top-10 finish. His average finish is 19.6. His last race at "the track too tough to tame" was in 2006 where he qualified sixth and finished 26th.
NEW TEAMMATES - This weekend will also be the first time that Wimmer and Keselowski will work as teammates under the JR Motorsports banner.
UP ON THE WHEEL - The 33-year-old Wimmer is ranked seventh in the "Fastest on Restarts" category at Darlington Raceway, according to NASCAR statistical services. He is the only non-Sprint Cup affiliated driver inside the top 10 in that category.
VETERAN OF THE NNS - Wimmer will make his 176th start in the NASCAR Nationwide Series this weekend. His Nationwide resume includes six wins, 29 top-fives and 68 top-10s. He has led 599 laps and earned an average finishing position of 14.8 in his career.
CHASSIS INFO - The No. 5 Fastenal team will run chassis 382. Previously, it was the No. 88 car that Keselowski drove to a fourth-place finish at Bristol in the spring of 2008.
WIMMER (on his first Nationwide race with JR Motorsports) - "I am really looking forward to driving for JR Motorsports and having Fastenal on board as the sponsor. Darlington is a great place to race. The layout of the track is very demanding on a driver. The outside wall comes up quick upon exit and it can bite you pretty fast. I'm looking forward to working with Brian Campe and the guys, because I know they build great cars at JR Motorsports. It should be a fun weekend."
WIMMER (on partnering with JRM and Fastenal for a six-race schedule this year) -- "I can't say enough about how grateful I am to have the opportunity to run part of the season for JR Motorsports and Fastenal. Earlier in the year I went to the shop for a team luncheon, and you can just feel the enthusiasm around JR Motorsports. It's great to be a part of what Dale Jr. is building over there. These teams are extremely competitive, and to have Fastenal on as a sponsor is really special."
