CHICAGOLAND NOTORIOUSLY A TOUGH TRACK FOR LEFFLER
Chicagoland Speedway is not on the list of Jason Leffler's best tracks from a performance standpoint - in four Nationwide starts at the Joliet, IL track,
Leffler has only one top-10 finish (2004). However, strong runs earlier this season at Charlotte and Kentucky have given the team renewed
confidence at the 1.5-mile tracks and they enter this weekend's Dollar General 300 feeling they can be a top contender.
IT'S DOUBLE DUTY FOR LEFFLER AT CHICAGOLAND SPEEDWAY
In addition to Friday night's Nationwide Series race at Chicagoland Speedway, Leffler will attempt to qualify for the Sprint Cup Series race the following evening in the No. 70 Haas CNC Racing entry.
BRUAN RACING WELCOMES COMCAST ON BOARD THE NO. 38 GREAT CLIPS CAMRY
Comcast will adorn the No. 38 Great Clips Toyota this weekend. Comcast Corporation (Nasdaq: CMCSA, CMCSK) (http://www.comcast.com) is the nation's leading provider of entertainment, information and communications products and services. With 24.7 million cable customers, 14.1 million high-speed Internet customers, and 5.2 million voice customers, Comcast is principally involved in the development, management and operation of broadband cable systems and in the delivery of programming content.
LEFFLER ON THE CHARACTERISTICS OF CHICAGOLAND SPEEDWAY:
"Chicagoland is a fast track with multiple grooves so it's pretty easy to pass. You can run the high groove or the bottom groove and move around as much or as little as you need to based on how the car is handling. Generally, you don't see a lot of cautions during this race so don't be surprised if it comes down to fuel mileage and pit strategy in the end. This will be the first time we have raced under the lights at Chicago so everyone is going to have to adjust for different weather conditions than we are used to."
LEFFLER ON PAST EXPERIENCE AT CHICAGOLAND SPEEDWAY:
"I really enjoy racing at this track but I haven't had a lot of success here. We have put a lot of our efforts this season on improving our performance at these mile and a half tracks and we are definitely going in the right direction. After having really solid runs at Charlotte and Kentucky earlier this season, I am looking forward to this weekend's race and seeing how far we have come and how we stack up against the competition. I think that the extra seat time I will get by running the Cup car there is also going to be a big help to us. Even though the cars are so different now, you still cannot underestimate the benefits of getting that extra time on the track."
The No. 38 Great Clips team will unload chassis # 23 in this weekend's Dollar General 300 powered by Coca-Cola. This is the same car the team competed with last month at Kentucky where Leffler was running second before a loose wheel took him out of contention for the win. This car was also raced this year at Nashville Superspeedway (26th) and California Speedway (8th).
