Bayne Ready to Settle in with Roush Fenway at Charlotte
Trevor Bayne will make his third start for Roush Fenway this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Bayne and the No. 17 Roush Fenway team ran to an 11th-place finish last weekend in California and have shown great promise in the two previous outings.
Bayne will be making his debut in the Ford Mustang next generation Nationwide Series car. The car will be run full-time next season in the Nationwide Series. This will be the last time the Mustang is raced in 2010.
On Charlotte Motor Speedway:
"I've only been to Charlotte one time, so I still have a lot to learn there. Last time we had to run the top the whole day, so I learned a good deal about the lines. I really liked the track. We qualified second - didn't have the run we were looking for, but I'm looking forward to going back.
"The biggest challenge at Charlotte is getting your car to turn on the bottom of (turns) three and four. You can always move up, but the fastest guys always seem to be able to get their cars hooked on the bottom.
"We are driving the new Ford Mustangs this weekend, and I can't wait to get in it. I think it will be a lot of fun to drive the new cars."
Crew Chief Ricky Viers:
"While it is always exciting racing at Charlotte, this week should be very good for our race team. We will have a complete day of testing on Wednesday to prepare for the race on Friday night. It will give Trevor and me a chance to work together on what he needs and the feel he likes in these new cars
