Braun Racing Teammates Brian Vickers and Burney Lamar Face Off For First Time at Lowe's Motor Speedway; Lamar makes his debut in the No. 10 Dollar General Toyota

MOORESVILLE, NC (May 18, 2009) -- Burney Lamar shares driving duties of the No. 32 Dollar General Toyota with Brian Vickers. This weekend, however, the two Braun Racing drivers will go head-to-head in the Carquest Auto Parts 300 at Lowe's Motor Speedway as Lamar makes his debut in the No. 10 Dollar General Toyota.

"I'm very excited to be behind the wheel of the No. 10 Dollar General Toyota this weekend at Lowe's Motor Speedway," said Lamar. "Any weekend I am behind the wheel of one of these Braun Racing Camrys is a great weekend for me! It will be a slight adjustment to work with a different team, but I have the utmost confidence in Stewart Cooper and the 10 crew. This team is competitive every week and I feel we have a great chance for a top-10 or even a top-five finish! Lowe's Motor Speedway a lot of fun to race on and the Saturday night race under the lights is always exciting and packs a special punch."

This will be Lamar's third start at the 1.5-mile Concord, North Carolina track. He was last seen in the No. 32 Dollar General Toyota at Richmond International Raceway where a flat tire and subsequent green-flag pit stop cost him his first top-10 finish of the season. Lamar will drive the No. 32 Dollar General Toyota in18 of the 35 Nationwide Series events in 2009.

* Lowe's Motor Speedway NNS Stats: Lamar has made two previous starts at Lowe's Motor Speedway. His highest start was 25th (October, 2008) and his highest finish was 26th (May, 2006).

* This weekend marks Lamar's 56th career NASCAR Nationwide starts and his sixth start with Braun Racing in 2009.

* What's cookin? Lamar will be on Friday morning's Fox News Rising (Fox Charlotte). Fox's Jon Wilson will host a little culinary competition between Lamar and Red Bull Racing Team's head chef, Cliff Cameron. Since cooking is one of Lamar's favorite hobbies, this should be a pretty hot show-down!

* What's up next? Burney Lamar returns to the wheel of the No. 32 Dollar General Toyota for Nationwide Series stand-alone events in June: Nashville Superspeedway, Kentucky Speedway and The Milwaukee Mile.

Burney on racing at Lowe's Motor Speedway:

"Lowe's Motor Speedway a lot of fun to race on and the Saturday Night race is always exciting. Stewart Cooper and the No. 10 Dollar General crew have done a great job of putting together fast cars this year and I am sure they will bring a solid one to Lowe's. This is my first race in the No. 10 Toyota Camry and I am looking forward to a great race. This team is competitive every week and I feel we have a great chance for a top-10 or even a top-five finish."

Equipment Information

It may have a different number on the door, but it's a familiar ride for Burney Lamar. The No. 10 Dollar General team will compete with chassis #BR037 in this weekend's Carquest Auto Parts 300. Chassis #37 was last seen at Nashville Superspeedway (April 2009) where Burney Lamar started 17th and finished a season-best of 13th.
