Mooresville, NC (February 28, 2001) - Michael Waltrip heads to Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend looking to bring his Busch Grand National team the success he had two weeks ago in Daytona in his Winston Cup car. The Aaronis "Dream Machine" did not get the finish they deserved in Daytona, but they ran inside the top 20 for most of the day before the No. 99 Chevrolet broke a motor. Michael Waltrip and the Aaronis "Dream Machine" team are going to Las Vegas this weekend with their sights set on a win.
Waltrip recently concluded a two-day test at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in preparation for this weekendis NASCAR Busch Grand National race in Las Vegas, NV. Waltrip posted a lap of 165.806 miles per hour on day four of NASCAR's Busch Grand National series testing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Bobby Kennedy stated, "We were about seventh out of the 20 Busch Grand National cars that participated in the test. We are taking a car that Michael finished fourth at the California Speedway and second at the Michigan Speedway last year. The two times Michael and I have gone to Las Vegas Motor Speedway together with a Winston Cup car, we did not have the finishes we would have liked, but we qualified second and eighth. I believe that success will carry on into this year."
Waltrip's best finish in a Busch Grand National car at Las Vegas Motor Speedway came in 1997 when he started from the 35th position and finished 4th.
