Rookie sensation Martin Truex, Jr. earned his sixth Bud pole of the Busch season at Pikes Peak International Raceway. Busch teams were delayed by weather for about an hour, in which a storm cooled temperatures and changed track conditions.

Truex lap time of 137.478 mph not only earned him the top stating spot, but also broke the track record set by Jeff Purvis in 2000. All-in-all, the top thirteen drivers busted that track record of 135.629 mph.

"When that rain came down and washed the rubber off, we had all the grip," Truex said. "It's tough to get days like this, but when you do you've got to make the most of them. And we did."

Kyle Busch, David Stremme, Johnny Sauter and Bobby Hamilton, Jr. complete the top five.
