"Hispanic Owned Team Gains Additional Support For Inaugural Debut"
MEXICO CITY, MX (Friday, March 2, 2007) - - Transnet Racing announced today the signing of Hooters Mexico in a one-race deal for Sunday's Telcel Motorola Mexico 200 presented by Banamex, the third race of the 2007 NASCAR Busch Series schedule.
Hooters Mexico unveiled its first restaurant in November, 1997, becoming one of 19 different countries to hoist Hooters outside the United States. The start of Hooters Mexico was slow, but quickly gained attention. The public flocked in to enjoy their favorite sports on television and enjoy leisure time with family and friends accompanied by the traditional Hooters menu.
While Hooters Mexico has been known for their laid back neighborhood place it's recently become the concept of Hooter's Mexico to try to become more of a family oriented restaurant, reminding everyone they are a part of the Hooters family.
Today, Hooters Mexico has four restaurants, with three of them located in Mexico City and one in the port of Acapulco.
The organization has expressed their excitement about joining the NASCAR Busch Series (NBS) with Alex Garcia in the No. 98 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS in their NASCAR debut and for the third NASCAR Busch race held at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
"It's exciting to have Hooters Mexico aboard for this weekend's race," said driver Alex Garcia." "It's an honor to promote the Hooters restaurants of Mexico and we're hoping to give them and all of our sponsors a great run on Sunday."
Garcia will perform a meet and greet and sign autographs at the Hooters in Satelite, in Mexico City, D.F. located at 2150 Manuel Avila Camacho Blvd (Blvd. Manuel 0vila Camacho #2150) on Saturday, March 3 from 6:30-8:30pm local time.
