"Everyone likes racing at Charlotte because we get to sleep in our own beds. That's pretty much the standard answer. But, aside from Daytona, the upcoming race at Charlotte is probably the biggest event of the season for the Busch Series. We are basically racing in our backyard and everyone wants to get a win in front of the racing community's home crowd." -- Todd Bodine, driver of the No. 66 Phillips 66 Chevrolet

"Charlotte is a tough race track. The track tends to be a little sensitive to the weather, so you have to be on your toes when trying to figure out the right race setup. Just the slightest change in temperature or the slightest bit of cloud cover can do a 180 on the handling of the race car. It's real important to have a good handling race car at Charlotte. If you have a car that handles better on the long runs, you will have more success because there tend to be a lot of green flag laps at Charlotte."

In 2000, Bodine has completed 97.5 percent of the laps run in the NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division. With 10 top-10 finishes in 2000, Bodine leads all drivers in the top-10 performance category. The 10 top-10 finishes scored in 2000 brings Bodine's career total to 122 top 10s in 216 starts.

"Twister's Sister" is the car Bodine will compete with at Lowe's Motor Speedway during the upcoming Carquest Auto Parts 300 on May 27. "Twister's Sister" has performed well for the Phillips 66 team in the 2000 season. It's the car Bodine scored a pair of fourth-place finishes with at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway. In the car's most recent performance, Bodine scored a fifth-place finish at California.

Two Weeks Ago In New Hampshire . . . Todd Bodine secured his seventh top-five finish of the 2000 NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division season with his fourth-place finish in the Busch 200 at New Hampshire International Speedway.

Happy Birthday Ashlyn . . . The race at Lowe's Motor Speedway is always a big occasion, but two years ago it became an even bigger occasion for the Bodine family. Bodine and his wife Lynn celebrated the birth of their daughter Ashlyn Marie two years ago at Lowe's Motor Speedway. Ashlyn celebrated her second birthday on May 21 with friends, family and members of the Cicci-Welliver Racing teams.
