HAMPTON, Ga. (March 10, 1999) The 'new' Atlanta Motor Speedway is fast if nothing else. Some drivers and car owners, mostly car owners, find that troubling. But NASCAR Busch Series Grand National Division driver Tim Fedewa likes it fast, and he likes Atlanta because of it.

"Atlanta is fast," he said. "I really haven't got a true feeling for the new configuration of the track. We were having motor problems last year and didn't really get to race hard. This year we are going there to race with a Pontiac and equipment that is 100 percent and I can't wait. I have always been a big fan of Atlanta Motor Speedway."

Cicci-Welliver Racing is bringing what they consider a 'house car' to Atlanta Motor Speedway. The chassis was designed and developed within the Cicci-Welliver race stables. The No. 36 Stanley Racing Pontiac was previously driven last year at Atlanta.

"We knew what we were looking for in a race car for Atlanta Motor Speedway," said Clyde McLeod, team manager for Cicci-Welliver Racing. "We designed the car to fit that profile. At Atlanta, you better make sure that car is good and tight getting in or it's going to put a little scare into your driver. What do I have to say about Atlanta? It's way too fast."

Fedewa will be a guest on the live radio show FasTalk with Benny Parsons on Friday, March 12 at 8 p.m.
