Sadler makes Busch Series return at Texas
STATESVILLE, NC (October 30, 2007) - For the third consecutive season, Gillett Evernham Motorsports and its drivers Kasey Kahne, Scott Riggs, and Elliott Sadler will be a part of the Auto Value-Bumper To Bumper family.
Elliott Sadler will return to the NASCAR Busch Series this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway, piloting the No. 9 Auto Value-Bumper to Bumper Dodge in this Saturday's event. This will mark Sadler's second start of the 2007 NASCAR Busch Series season.
Sadler's return--to a track where he's visited victory lane--has him craving more success.
"I seldom get the opportunity to run in this series, but when I do I want to make the most of it," said Sadler. "Texas has been good to me in past years. It's a fun track for me, so to come and race the Busch car this weekend is a labor of love."
It's also the first race of 2007 in which Sadler will sit behind the wheel of an Auto Value-Bumper to Bumper-sponsored Dodge.
"I've been looking forward to this race. Auto Value-Bumper to Bumper has been a fun sponsor for us," Sadler continued. "They know cars and they're passionate about racing, so I'm sure they'll be paying close attention to how we perform. I look forward to putting on a good show for all of their employees and store owners that will be in attendance this weekend."
* Elliott picked up a win at Texas Motor Speedway in 2004, edging out now-teammate Kasey Kahne at the finish line for his first of two NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series victories that season.
* In five NASCAR Busch Series starts from Texas Motor Speedway, Elliott has scored three top-ten finishes. His best finish was a runner-up showing in 1998, after leading 18 laps on the day.
* Chassis No. 27, the car that Elliott will be driving this weekend, went to victory lane with driver Kasey Kahne this past August at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Discount Mike's Tire & Automotive to adorn Elliott's hood
Along with the Auto Value-Bumper to Bumper logo, the logo of Mike's Tire & Automotive will be showcased on Elliott Sadler's No. 9 Dodge for this weekend's NASCAR Busch Series race at Texas Motor Speedway.
As the winner of a random drawing comprised of Auto Value-Bumper to Bumper Certified Service Centers, the Broken Arrow, Oklahoma-based company will be showcased on the hood of Sadler's Dodge in his attempt to re-visit victory lane at the Fort Worth track.
"When I found out my shop won, I couldn't have been happier. I love NASCAR racing and am so pleased that my company will be shown on the hood of a race car. It's all like a great big dream!" said Michael Gauldin, owner of Discount Mike's Tire & Automotive. "The guys in my shop work hard and they all deserve the spotlight. We all take pride in being part of a great group like Auto Value-Bumper to Bumper that has given us this opportunity."
Sadler's race-worn helmet to be auctioned in support of Charity Cars
Elliott Sadler will auction off his race-used helmet from this Saturday's NASCAR Busch Series race at Texas Motor Speedway. The proceeds from the winning bid will go directly to Auto Value-Bumper to Bumper's Charity Cars program.
Sadler's helmet, the third Gillett Evernham Motorsports helmet to be auctioned for Charity Cars, will be a special, one-of-a-kind helmet scheme designed by Ryan Young at Indocil Art. The race-used helmet will be autographed by Elliott and be put up for bid on eBay. All proceeds from the auction go to the Auto Value-Bumper to Bumper Charity Cars program. Log-on to ebay.com/charitycars for auction details.
The Charity Cars program receives donated cars from store customers and then allows the Auto Value-Bumper to Bumper experts to inspect and ensure that each and every car is ready for the road. The refurbished vehicles will then be presented to over 500 recipients across the nation, all of whom are victims of domestic violence.
"Auto Value-Bumper to Bumper has done such a great job with the Charity Cars program," commented Sadler. "I've seen how my teammates (Kasey Kahne and Scott Riggs) have succeeded in raising money for it and I'd like to continue the tradition."
