A SOLID TOP-10 FINISH TODAY. "That was a real good race. That's my second race in Clarence Brewer's car and I can't thank him enough. We had a lot of problems on restarts and we couldn't get going and we didn't need those last couple of laps or otherwise I think we could have had a top-seven. I'm real happy for Duraflame and everybody on this team, and I'm glad to be in a Ford."
DOES THIS FINISH GIVE YOU CONFIDENCE GOING INTO TOMORROW'S CUP RACE? "We've got some obstacles to overcome on the Cup side, but we're working hard and we're getting better, and this sure helps, a top-10 run always helps to make you feel better."
TODD KLUEVER-06-3M Ford Fusion (Finished 21st)
"We were really good on the long runs and really free on the short runs, so they hurt us a lot at the end. We turned such a big corner and climbed such a big hurdle this week that's going to go unnoticed by our finish, but our car was good all race long and that's something we haven't been able to do all year. We know why, and I thank Mike Kelley (crew chief) for doing his homework and Mike Beam for helping us out a little bit, too. It just bit us in qualifying, but we were a lot better in the race than we've been all year long. Now we just need to get our qualifying figured out and how to make the car qualify well. We know how to do that, there's just a couple of things we didn't have in this car that we needed. I think everybody will see what a big hurdle we cleared this weekend next weekend when we go to Nashville.
DAVID GREEN-27-Scott Towel/Brookshire's Ford Fusion (Finished 16th) - "Qualifying was like a pole and we took off with three laps into the run and I just went crazy loose and I was afraid of that. We didn't get where we wanted to in practice right there, and we had to shuffle around for our qualifying package because we had to make the race, and it was one thing after another. It's like I told Stewart (Cooper, crew chief), we worked on it all day long and the best it was was at the very end of the race, and we haven't had that in the last few weeks. The guys in the pits were solid and we didn't tear up anything, and we got to finally finish."
WERE YOU SURPRISED BY THE AMOUNT OF CAUTION FLAGS AT THE END? "It's one of those deals where cautions breed cautions and that's what was happening. Honestly, I was hating to see all of the cautions because it just lets everybody stack back up. We're inching up on it. We've never kind of got ourselves in this big of a hole, but we're all a good team and we're going to climb out of it, and it's on to the next race and we'll build up point this and learn what we learned today with the tires and what we did during the race and what enabled us to qualify good, we'll use toward the following week."
GREG BIFFLE-16-Ameriquest Mortgage Ford Fusion (Finished 2nd)
"It seems like every time I run against that Penske 39 car I get beat. They had a lot of steam on the restarts. They just kept beating me, and I did all I could - put the throttle down - and I couldn't catch him. I was a little bit too tight. I think if I would have been a little freer I would have got him. That's just the way it is."
CARL EDWARDS-60-Henkel Ford Fusion (Finished 43rd)
WHAT PUT YOU BEHIND THE WALL? "It's something in the motor. I guess when it rains it pours. Our Henkel Ford team did a great job. I'm so proud of my guys; they had such an awesome backup car. We were just taking it easy. We were going to look at the tires and make sure everything was right. The car was so fast. I guess on the good side, I got to drive to a great race car for about 75 or 80 laps."
JON WOOD-47-Clorox Ford Fusion (Finished 26th)
"It's hard to explain, and it's one thing to scratch your head and you don't know why you're slow, but it's another when there is an explain, and at least we have an explanation for it. We'll be fine. I know what the problem is and we can fix it for the next time we go to one of these types of tracks.
