CONCORD, N.C. (Aug. 4, 1998) Team 34 Racing, one of the more prominent multi-car teams in the NASCAR Busch Series Grand National Division, announced today that Gary Cogswell, crew chief of the No. 34 Goulds Pumps Chevrolet team, and Team 34 Racing have mutually agreed to go their separate ways. Team manager Clyde McLeod will serve as interim crew chief for the No. 34 Goulds Pumps Chevrolet team, with driver Mike McLaughlin, until a permanent replacement is named. "We appreciate the efforts of Gary over the last two season," McLeod said. "Gary improved this race team and we wish him the best in his future endeavors." McLaughlin is currently third in the NASCAR Busch Series point standings with one victory, eight top-fives and 13 top-10 finshes in 20 races. With 10 races remaining in the season, McLaughlin trails leader Dale Earnhardt Jr. by 127 points in the standings. McLaughlin and Team 34 Racing Team will return to the track August 15 in the Pepsi 200 at Michigan Speedway. Source: NASCAR Online
