"When you're that close you want to win one of these things and we're close. Everyone on the Discount Tire team is working extremely hard and our win is just right around the corner. We're going for it every week and it was another good points day for us. We've just got to get ourselves back in the top 10 comfortably in points and then I'll be able to race them."
HOW MUCH WILL THIS HELP FOR TOMORROW?
"A lot. Both cars are good. Our Cup car is really good and I think we can do the same thing tomorrow, it's just a matter of putting ourselves in a good position. At times we got caught up in that wreck there on the back straightaway and we had to come down and work on our Ford Fusion a little bit, but they worked real hard and we kind of marched our way back to the front and, I tell you, the Discount Tire car had a lot of speed and that's what counts at these restrictor plate races."
DID YOU HAVE A PLAN ON THAT FINAL RESTART?
"I was almost committed to the bottom. I wanted the 21 to try the 24 on the high side and then I would have made it three-wide on the bottom and just hope for the best. I think the 14 was kind of committed to sticking with us. He had run behind us the majority of the day, so my hat's off to Kyle for helping me out a little bit, but those last few laps Tony laid back a little bit. You knew he was gonna be hard-charging and he didn't have anything to lose. He's not out here racing for points. I would have jumped out of line and fell from third to 10th and that wouldn't have been a smart move."
