Sadler Aims High For Talladega
Talladega, Alabama - - The NASCAR Busch Series will return to action this weekend for their second restrictor plate event of the 2004 season. Hermie Sadler, in toe with his SCORE Motorsports teams heads to the 2.666 mile Superspeedway looking to improve on their Daytona "plate" performance where the No. 02 Zapf Creation machine drafted home 23rd.
The SCORE crew, with Emporia, Virginia native Sadler head to the track with great expectations, in hopes of turning their season around. The team has finished consistently in the top-25, and currently locks down the 25 position in the battle for the championship. However, the two-time NASCAR Busch Series winner knows that his team needs top ten finishes to climb back into the points race.
"The positive for us is that we have been consistent, we just need to keep getting more competitive each and every week," said the Busch driver. "Talladega provides challenges for everyone, but it is a track that you can make up ground in the points if you have a good day. Hopefully it will be the start of a good streak of races for us."
For the second time this season, longtime Sadler supporter Zapf Creation joins the No. 02 Pontiac Grand Prix as the primary sponsor for the Aarons 312. The FanZCar, which sponsored Sadler in his second NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series start last weekend at Martinsville, will be joined by Jenkins & Jenkins Law Firm as associate sponsors this Saturday.
Following Talladega, The FanZCar will return as the primary sponsor for the NASCAR Busch Series event at California. SCORE Motorsports will also attempt to qualify for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race at the two-mile oval.
Rolling into Talladega, Sadler has 233 NASCAR Busch Series starts to his record, 2 wins, 18 top-fives, 44 top-tens, three poles, and has achieved $2,291,044 in career earnings.
The Aarons 312 is the eighth of 34 events on the 2004 NASCAR Busch Series schedule. Practice and qualifying are on the agenda this Thursday, April 22nd with the race set to take the green flag Saturday, April 24th. FOX will air the event live beginning at 2:00 PM EST, with MRN handling the airwaves starting at 1:30 PM EST.
