MOORESVILLE, NC -- FitzBradshaw Racing has announced a driver change for Saturday's running of the Twister 300 at the Chicagoland Speedway. Due to a conflict of schedules, Steve Grissom will drive the Jani-King Chevrolet Monte Carlo in place of two-time Busch Series champion Randy LaJoie.
LaJoie, who has competed in five races this season for FitzBradshaw Racing, will instead compete in the Craftsman Truck Series race at Kentucky Speedway for Jim Harris and HT Motorsports this weekend. LaJoie will also compete in the following two CTS races for Harris, but is expected to pilot the No. 82 Chevrolet again in September.
"I'm looking forward to being back in the No. 82 car for California," says the two-time Busch Series Champion. "FitzBradshaw Racing will have built a good car that will have been tested and I'm sure to be competitive for the remainder of the scheduled Jani-King and Goulds Pumps races."
For this weekend's Twister 300, the Jani-King car will be fielded as the No. 24 and will be a GIC Mixon Motorsports entry. This is the second consecutive week that FitzBradshaw Racing and GIC Mixon Motorsports have collaborated in a joint venture to field a Jani-King racecar. Last week's effort earned the No. 82 Jani-King car a 16th place finish for the Winn-Dixie 250 presented by PepsiCo.
"Randy has done a fantastic job for our sponsors so far this year," says team co-owner Armando Fitz. "We are excited to see how Steve will do in Chicago."
FitzBradshaw Racing is owned by NASCAR veteran Armando Fitz and Pro Football Hall of Fame member and FOX broadcaster Terry Bradshaw. The team fields three cars in the NASCAR Busch Series: the No. 12 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, sponsored by Supercuts, Hot Tamales, and Bicycle Playing Cards; the No. 14 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, sponsored by the Navy; and the No. 82 Chevrolet Monte Carlo sponsored by Jani-King, and Goulds Pumps.
FitzBradshaw Racing will be featured all season long on the SPEED Channel reality show NBS 24/7. The show airs every Monday night at 8:00 pm and re-airs Mondays at 1:00 a.m., Tuesdays at 4:00 p.m., Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m., and on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
