Hermie Sadler Hopes To Shine Under The Lights In Gateway
Gateway, Illinois - - Hermie Sadler will head into Gateway International Raceway this weekend looking for a break. Hiccups in the last couple NASCAR Busch Series events have left the Emporia, Virginia native frustrated.
The FanZCar suffered a huge blow in last weekend race from California Speedway. After qualifying in the top-30, Sadler's Chevrolet Monte Carlo broke loose on lap four and slammed into the turn three wall, ending any chances of a positive finish.
Despite a disappointing 37th place finish at Fontana, the driver of car 02 advanced one position in the run for the 2004 NASCAR Busch Series Champions from 26th to 25th.
For the second time this season, the Busch Series will enjoy a stand-alone event since the NEXTEL Cup Series enjoys the Mother's Day weekend off. However, points leader Michael Waltrip, Greg Biffle, Kasey Kahne, Johnny Sauter, and Robby Gordon are all expected to be included in the starting lineup.
Heading into the event this weekend, Sadler has four career starts at the unique facility. Hermie has a career best start of 19th, which occurred in 1999, while motoring a career best finish of 11th in 1997.
The SCORE Motorsports team will invade the track this weekend, looking for their first top-ten finish of the season. The team has obviously had a few obstacles this season, but as the season has progressed the team continues to learn, and everyone feels it's just a matter of time before the team begins to make some serious noise.
Also for the first time this season, the teams will be awarded with a one-day show. This is a rare schedule on the tour, but the teams will be able to practice, qualify, and race all in one day. Many throughout the Busch Series welcome and enjoy this opportunity.
