SCOTT RIGGS-10-Nestle Nesquik Ford Taurus (Finished 4th)
IT LOOKED LIKE YOU HAD SOME CLOSE CALLS TODAY. "It was very hairy at times out there. Just the way the track is, there are so many different grooves to move around, everybody is sliding all over the place and on the long green-flag runs, people would come out of there with new tires and you had to get out of their way and at the same time hold your position. It was just a good day for us to get Rockingham under our belts. All of the guys on the Ford Nesquik Taurus are used to winning races; they're used to begin consistent and they're the ones that are showing me the way and keeping me focused on what we need to be focused on. We even got a lap down there and they never leaned either way. They said that we're going to keep on digging to get our lap back, and once we got our lap back, they said OK, we're still in the ballgame, let's keep going. They're the ones that make me look good. Harold Holly and the guys, the team is what makes it work. I'm just a small link and I'm trying to make my link stronger and figure out the way I can measure these guys more and more. The more that I'm around them, the more I realize how great of a team that they are."
YOU AND JACK SPRAGUE MIXED IT UP TODAY. "I think that Sprague might have had a little brain lapse there. We were side by side and his car was awful slow and three of us were going by. I guess he decided when it was me beside him that he was going run down the side of me. Then later in the race, I thought that maybe he just slipped. At first I was mad, and I said that maybe he just slipped. And sure enough, later in the race, he tried to chop me off and do it again. I'm not going to get caught up in those kind of games because when you get caught up in those kind of games, you don't wind up in fourth place, you wind up where he was."
YOU MOVED UP EARLY IN THE RACE AND FELL BACK BEFORE THE GREEN-FLAG STOP. "At the beginning of the race we were pretty tight, and Harold kept working on the car and kept freeing us up. Right there at the end, we weren't going to come for tires, and all of a sudden, and I didn't feel it and we didn't see it from the spotter's stand, but Harold said the left-rear was flat. Sure enough, I weaved it back and forth, and the left-rear was flat and we were about to get the one to go. We had to make the call to come in for tires and that was probably a blessing in disguise, because when we did do that and the rest of the race went green, we were a hard charger there to get through the pack and stay out of trouble to make our way back up front."
