Jason Keller Notes:
* Jason Keller returns to North Carolina Speedway as the defending race winner of the Rockingham 200. Keller captured his first of four wins last season at Rockingham by a margin of six seconds.
* Keller will not be driving the Albertsons Ford that captured the win at Rockingham last spring, but it is one of Keller's favorite cars. This car ran at Kentucky, Michigan, Kansas City and Bristol in 2002.
Jason Keller Quotes:
The Season Opener... Jason Keller gave the fans quite a scare after he was caught up in a wreck with just two laps to go last week at Daytona International Speedway. Keller was heading for a solid top-10 finish before the accident prevented Keller from finishing the race.
"I'm still a little sore," said Keller. "I'm just taking it one day at time, but by this weekend I am sure I'll be fine. It's unfortunate that we were caught up in someone else's wreck because we were running well. We worked hard in the off-season to prepare for that race and we performed as well as I had hoped on and off the track. The guys did a great job in the pits, especially since it was their first race together."
The Rock... Keller had the dominate car in the spring race last year at North Carolina Speedway. Keller will not only be looking for a repeat of last year's performance and his first victory of the 2003 season, but his 10th top-10 finish at "The Rock."
"I am really looking forward to this weekend," said Keller. "I can't wait to get into a down-force car and see how good we really are this year. You spend so much time during the off-season testing at the restrictor-place tracks that you have some uncertainty when you head to Rockingham.
"I am a little concerned about how the new body styles on the other car makes will do at Rockingham. But I know Steve and the guys have prepared a great race car for me and they have the same expectations that I do. Our racing season starts this weekend with our main goal of winning races and keeping our eyes on the NASCAR Busch Series championship.
"I love the type of racing that goes on at Rockingham and winning like we did last year may have something to do with it," continued Keller. "We ran so well there in the spring and so poorly there in the fall that I have high expectations for this race. I want to defend the race title, but also redeem myself for the way the Albertsons Ford ran in November."
