The FanZCar Looks To "Rock" Rockingham
ROCKINGHAM, NORTH CAROLINA (THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2004) - - The FanZCar will officially kick off their start to the 2004 NASCAR Busch Series as NASCAR veteran Hermie Sadler will sport the FanZCar colors this weekend from North Carolina Speedway.
Sadler, who hopes to make his 20th Busch start this weekend from the one-mile oval, will pilot the No. 02 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, also a season debut for the team this weekend. In his previous 19 starts at the track nicknamed the "Rock," Hermie has collected a track best finish of third (1994), while a fifth place (1997) was his best starting grid position.
Sadler and his SCORE Motorsports team would like nothing more to leave NCS (North Carolina Speedway) with a win. Hermie has proven to be a front-runner at the track in the past, and would like to finally close the deal, a deal that has eluded him in the past.
The team heads to the track this weekend on a high note after finishing a solid 23rd at the season-opener Monday afternoon from Daytona International Speedway. The No. 02 Pontiac Grand Prix had a solid show in a race that carried associate sponsorship from the FanZCar. Sadler maneuvered his way through the two "Big Ones" and remained competitive through much of the event.
Several NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series veterans who competed in the race, will not attempt the race this weekend, giving the FanZCar an advantage in the NASCAR Busch Series point standings, with all hopes of capturing the trophy and prestige at season's end.
"We're looking for a great weekend at North Carolina Speedway," said founder of FanZCar Scott Stricker. "We feel that Hermie has a great chance at showing some muscle on Saturday, and we'll have the fans at the track, and the fans at home rooting him on."
Sadler and the FanZCar Chevrolet team will hit the track Saturday, February 21, at 12:30 p.m. at the North Carolina Speedway for the second race of the 34-race Busch Series schedule. The Goody's Headache Powder 200, a 200-mile event will be telecast live on FX and broadcast worldwide on MRN radio.
