Scott Riggs Strengthens His Link with the Win in California: Scott Riggs, driver of the No. 10 Nestlé Nesquik Ford Taurus and Raybestos® Rookie of the Year contender, says it takes team effort to win a race.
"I am just the driver," said Riggs. "The entire team did their part in California to win that race. I have said it before, but we are all links in a chain and if each of us works to make our link stronger, then the entire chain will be solid. We are just planning on building on the success we have had so far."
Riggs says Richmond is a 'Test, it is Only a Test': Riggs is looking forward to his first Busch Series start at Richmond International Raceway this weekend.
"I like racing in Richmond," said Riggs. "The short tracks always get me fired up and when we do it at night, it adds even more excitement. Richmond is the kind of track that really tests a driver and his trust for the other drivers around him. When we race that close, each driver has to handle his machine carefully and respect the other equipment around him. If not, he or she will take out two to three other cars, at least. No one wants to see that. But they will see some hard charging going on when that second groove works it's way in."
Riggs Conveys the need for Education and Safety: Chester, VA- April 15, 2002- Riggs made a trip to Harrowgate Elementary School to speak about the importance of education and safety. During his visit, Riggs distributed coupons for free race tickets donated by RIR, samples of Nestle Nesquik and Nesquik Racing Folders that were donated by the Nestle Nesquik Racing program and signed autographs for the children and parents in attendance.
Equipment: The Nesquik Racing Team is taking 'Bonus' to the track this weekend; the same car Jeff Green drove in Richmond in spring 2001 (sixth place). 'Bonus' is the same car (same chassis with a new Ford body) that Green drove to Victory Lane three times in the 2000 season (South Boston, Myrtle Beach and Milwaukee).
