Scott Lynch, the reigning 2003 NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series Champion and Rookie of the Year, was recently named as the fourth driver of Tommy Baldwin Racing's Hungry Drivers™ program. Wasting no time, the 23 year-old Lynch will jump in the seat of the No. 6 Hungry Drivers™ Dodge for the Funai 250 at Richmond International Raceway to make his debut in the NASCAR Busch Series on the same day that he celebrates his 24th birthday.
Lynch on His NASCAR Busch Series Debut:
"Going from the West Series to the NASCAR Busch Series is going to be quite a big jump. I have never run on any of the three tracks that I will be competing on for the Hungry Drivers ™program, but I'm definitely excited about racing on all three. They are all steeped in history and being able to add my name to the roster of great drivers that have raced there is definitely very special."
Lynch on His Attempt to Make the Field at RIR:
"I'm really exciting about trying to make the field at Richmond. While I always want to win, my realistic goal is to qualify in the top 20 and finish in the top 20. If I can do that I would feel as if I accomplished something really great! If I can better that goal, it would be awesome!"
Happy Birthday to Two Hungry Drivers:
Two drivers in the Hungry Drivers™ program celebrate their birthdays in May. Tracy Hines turned 32 on May 1, 2004. Scott Lynch will celebrate his 24th birthday on May 14, 2004, the same night he will make his first career NASCAR Busch Series start!
