Jason Keller Quotes:
Confidence high heading to Richmond... Keller and the Albertsons team are pumped up for this weekend's race at Richmond International Raceway. The team captured a win and a fifth-place finish at the two events held at RIR in 2002 and look to capture their first win of 2003 while defending last year's victory.
"The Richmond night races are my favorite races on the schedule," said Keller. "It takes Steve (Addington) and I back to our short track days when we first started working together. The lights are bright, the fans are excited, and as a driver you feed off the intensity that surrounds the race. Last year's win was one of my favorite wins as a Busch Series driver.
"Whenever you have any amount of success at a racetrack, it gives you so much confidence heading into the next race. We are coming off a top-10 finish at California that we earned as a team. The Albertsons team worked hard on the car all weekend and Steve made smart calls in the pits. Instead of trying to get out of our minor slump from the weeks prior to California, we can now carry momentum with us to Richmond."
Ironing out the weak spots... "We've had a tougher time than we thought we would adjusting to the new 2003 Ford Taurus body," said Keller. "The new Ford is an incredible car, but we've had limited testing and practice, due to rain so far this season. The team has worked endless hours trying to figure the new style out and our success at California shows that.
"I am also extremely proud of the way they have handled the adversity we have faced already this season. They have the same positive outlook now as they did before the season started and that says a lot about Steve and the entire Albertsons team."
