Stacy Compton Quotes

On Richmond: "When you have good racing, lights and a lot of people, you have all the necessary ingredients for one of the most-popular races of the year. Richmond has always been one of my favorite places. First, it's not far from my home in Grit. Second, there's always good racing there. It has a short track feel to it, but you have to be fast. And the only way to be fast is to make sure your car handles well in the fourth turn. That's the only way to get a running start down the main straightaway."

On the season: "Richmond is the kind of racetrack where we can get back on track. We've made some gains in the last month, but we're still not getting the kind of finishes we deserve. We're approaching Richmond with a different attitude. We're going there to make our own luck. We can really get after it here in the next three months and have some fun. We're not worrying about points or anything else other than running hard and having fun."

Crew Chief Chris Rice Quote

On Richmond: "You have to be one adjustment ahead of the game when you race at Richmond. The car seems to change with every stop, so you have to know what to expect. It's not good enough to react to the way the track changes; you have to be ahead of it. As it gets cooler, the track really tightens up, so you have to make sure your car has a lot of adjustability to it early. By the time the race is over, your car won't be anything like it was when the race started."
