KEVIN HARVICK, NO. 21 PAYDAY CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO: Finished 2nd:
YOU HAD A GOOD RUN TONIGHT. TELL US ABOUT IT.
"It was a great run for us tonight for the Payday car. We had a strong car at the beginning and all night long. We really just kept ourselves in contention. Coming down to the end, I knew Johnny [Sauter] was going to race him hard and he and Matt got together a little bit and Matt about spun him out going into Turn 1 and I didn't think that was right, so I ran into the back of Matt. Johnny's a part of our organization and I'm going to stick up for him when I get the chance. I'm so dang proud of Johnny I can't hardly stand it."
TELL US ABOUT THE THREE-WIDE RUN INTO TURN 1 AT THE END.
"If there wasn't so much at stake, I would have just barreled it off in there and seen what happened. But we have quite a bit at stake and I didn't want to ruin Johnny' s chances at a good night. He capitalized and did it the way he needed to do it."
WERE YOU JUST TOO HARD INTO THE CORNER ON THAT LAST RUN?
"There was a whole bunch of speedy-dry down there and by the time I got everything whoaed down I was just pointed the wrong direction. If I would have driven straight in there, I would have driven straight into the side of his [Kenseth's] door. I thought I would just hang out down there and see what happened with those two up top. I really thought I was in the best position to have a shot at winning the race. I really thought they were going to get tangled up and run into each other."
