Team Yellow prepared to go to battle at Richmond Int'l Raceway
SPARTANBURG, SC (September 2, 2003) -- Richmond is a city surrounded by historic battle sites from the Civil War. When visiting these sites, one can almost see the skies light up with gunfire and feel the rumbling of cannons shaking the ground. This weekend the skies will be lit up by the lights surrounding the Richmond International Raceway (RIR), and the rumbling will be from the V8 engines that power the cars in the NASCAR Busch Series.
Team Yellow Racing and driver David Stremme are looking forward to returning to Richmond. The team has been strong at Richmond previously, winning both races in 2001. And in his second start with Yellow Racing earlier this season, Stremme had an impressive 14th place finish at RIR.
With more experience behind the wheel of the No. 1 Dodge, and returning to a track that he has run on before, Stremme likes his opportunity for better the team's finish.
"I am really excited to be back behind the wheel of the Team Yellow Dodge in Richmond again," Stremme said. "It is such a fun track to maneuver around. I love night racing, and I'm sure that we'll end up making a few friends in this good old fashioned short track race!"
Car Chief Jon Wolfe said, "Richmond is a good track for us. As long as we can stay out of trouble, which is much easier said than done, we should have a good strong finish. David was comfortable here earlier this year, and we know how he liked the car setup, so we are a step ahead of where we were then. The way I see it, we stand a good chance of seeing the Team Yellow Dodge run up front."
Be sure to Team Yellow Racing come to the track ready to battle this Friday night in Richmond. The Funai 250 at Richmond Int'l Raceway will be aired live on TNT and broadcast live on MRN beginning at 8:00 p.m. EDT Friday, September 5th. Qualifying for the event will take place Thursday, September 4th at 3:00 p.m. EDT and will be aired on the Speed Channel.
