DID YOU HAVE SOMETHING FOR HARVICK AT THE END? "I think so, but all kinds of things could have happened. I've got to thank the Good Lord up above for looking after us. We had a great race car. It's a brand-new race car. We took it back home a couple of weeks ago at Orange County Speedway and it worked good and we brought it here and my hat's off to all of these guys. We had great communication on everybody's part on this team. We did have a good car. We knew it was good in Happy Hour and we just tried to bide our time and pace ourselves. Like Doug (Randolph) said, 'Hang in there the first half of the race and we'll race the second half.' We played our game exactly the way we planned it out. I wish we could have had some laps. We'll hold our chins up high because we knew we had a good race car. We'll go back next week and try to get them again."
JASON KELLER-57-Albertsons Ford Taurus (Finished 21st)
"It seemed like we were somehow involved in all of those cautions tonight. We actually lost the setup about halfway through the race, after that first run. I'm not sure why or what, and that kind of put us back in that position to get in all the wrecks. We just did all we could do."
TRACK POSITION SEEMED TO BE A KEY FACTOR TONIGHT WITH ALL OF THE CAUTIONS. "We got in a couple of bang-ups and lost all of that track position and that made for a bad night." HOW WAS THE RACING SURFACE TONIGHT? "Actually, the groove moved way up and that surprised me. When it moved up we really lost the handle on it. It kind of worked not in our favor tonight."
KASEY KAHNE-38-Great Clips Ford Taurus (Finished 18th)
"We had a good car, but from the start of the race there was always a caution flag, the whole race. We were involved in most of them, but we've got a car in one piece so that's good. Other than that, it was just a tough night. You couldn't get a rhythm established with all of the cautions out there."
DID YOU HAVE HELP WHEN YOU SPUN YOUR CAR? "No. I was faster than the 4 car and I was passing him. There was a lapped car in front of me and I tried to move up a little bit to try to pass him in the corner and the 4 was still beside me. I knew he was there and I was hoping he would give me a little bit of room, but he held his ground like he should have and when I got loose I just spun myself. If I would have tried to fight it I would have spun him or spun both of them."
DID THE GROOVE WIDEN OUT TONIGHT AS THE RACE PROGRESSED? "I think the track conditions were perfect. I couldn't think of a better track. This is the best the track has been since I've been racing at Richmond and this is my third time. I don't know what the problem was."
BOBBY HAMILTON, JR.-25-Team Marines Ford Taurus (Finished 10th)
YOU WERE ABLE TO AVOIDS MOST OF THE ACCIDENTS TONIGHT. DO YOU FEEL LIKE YOUR LUCK IS TURNING AROUND? "I hope so. After missing a handful of wrecks, definitely. That's all luck anyway. After the last couple of weeks, this is really something to build on."
WITH THE RECORD NUMBER OF CAUTIONS TONIGHT, WAS THERE A PROBLEM WITH THE TRACK CONDITIONS? "I'm going to tell you that the track really came in on its own. You could run high side, inside, three wide. There were a lot of people that weren't using their heads. It was ridiculous sometimes. There'd be a caution and they'd go four wide racing back to the yellow flag. I just didn't want to be any part of that because I know how my luck has been going - I'd tear my car up. I just raced them on the race track and under green and it paid off."
