DAVID GREEN-27-Kleenex Ford Taurus (Finished 12th)
"I think we should have finished third or fourth right there, and maybe third. If we would have had a long green-flag run there at the end I think we could have be up there. I don't think we could have beat Carl or the 21. Our pit stops were good until the one that counted, and we spilled a bunch of fuel there and the tire changer went down. He had no grip, and I think we lost a ton of positions there. We debated on doing two tires, but our pit stops had been good and our car reacted good on four, so we were going to shoot for four. With the way it turned out maybe we should have done two, but hindsight is 20/20. I used to love this track, and I told Stewart (Cooper, crew chief) after the spring race, I said, 'I don't know if I really like it any more because it really threw us for a curveball.' The boys went back and we brought another car, plus we really went to work and this is by far the best car that I have ever had here. I've had some good ones here before, but this tops the list. It was just a great effort by my guys and a great effort to wrap up the year here going to Homestead. We know we were a top-five today and sometimes it doesn't work out for you. I'm proud of the guys and all of our tire changers and young guys doing all of our pit work because in a matter of two short months here they have really become veteran-like. Today was one of those accidents that couldn't be avoided on their behalf, and I'm excited for next year, and this is a good way to end our short-track season."
MATT KENSETH-17-Waste Management Ford Taurus (Finished 3rd)
"We had good race car today. It was a lot fun. It was one off the most fun Busch races that I've had all year. This is the first time in a while that we've had a car that was competitive enough to run with the top three. I had a good car, we just messed up on that last pit stop a little bit and that put us behind."
STEPHEN LEICHT-90-CitiFinancial/Action Ford Taurus (Finished 15th)
YOU HAVE TWO TOP-15 FINISHES IN YOUR FIRST TWO BUSCH SERIES STARTS. "It's not bad and I think we're pretty pleased. In my mind, as long as the owners are happy, I'm happy. I felt like I was doing what I could with what I had, but then again, I haven't been in these cars very much, so I don't know how much you can get out of them exactly, but I think I'm getting closer. We had a good run today. In the middle of the race the car wasn't bad. We fought tight all day and we made an adjustment on the last stop and it actually made the car worse. To come home 15th with all of these Cup drivers here, that wasn't too bad."
HAVE YOU EXCEEDED YOUR EARLY EXPECTATIONS? "Not really. I was hoping to run in the top 10 today and I thought we had a good enough car for it, but it just got away from us there at the end."
WHAT IS YOUR STATUS WITH YATES? "I've signed a three-year contract with Yates. We're going to run eight Busch races with seven ARCA, and that's pending sponsorship, so if they can find some sponsorship we might run more than that. The following year, hopefully, we'll be full time. That's the plan, and next year I also get run any Late Model races I want to when we're not running this deal with Yates. I'm just happy to be part of the team and I love the guys I'm working with."
GREG BIFFLE-66-Duraflame Ford Taurus (Finished 5th)
"It was a really tough day for me. I didn't quite get the setup right in practice and the car was really, really tight getting into the corner. I couldn't do anything getting in, so I had to free it up. It was so loose that I couldn't really get the gas down, but it was just one of those days. I didn't have it exactly how I wanted it, but a top-five with the pit crew, they gave me an awesome stop there at the end for track position."
CARL EDWARDS-60-World Financial Group Ford Taurus (Finished 1st)
"That was the best race car that I've ever been in my life. That was unbelievable. I really wanted to win a race at Phoenix my whole life and it's pretty awesome to win for World Financial Group. I thought Matt Kenseth might have had me. When he got to second, I held him up a little bit getting into four on the run before, and he wasn't having any of that and moved me out of the way; that's the same thing I would have done. I thought, 'Man, if he gets to me it's over, and I'm not going to win this thing.' Luckily, we could hold him off."
YOU MADE THE OUTSIDE GROOVE WORK FOR YOU AT THE END. "There was just a little bit grip there. I was just doing anything I could to keep a little bit of distance. My car was so loose all day it was unbelievable. We missed one adjustment. We couldn't find a wrench to make the wedge adjustment on one of our stops. That was as loose as I could drive a car. It's a lot of fun and I'm having a blast. I just can't thank everybody enough for the opportunities that I've gotten, and I hope this carries over to tomorrow. It would be unbelievable to run this well tomorrow."
JASON KELLER-35-McDonald's Big Mac Ford Taurus (Finished 16th)
"The car was real good on long runs, but not too good on short runs. We couldn't really get any track position there. All in all, it's a decent race car. I just felt like we had a better race car than where we finished, but sometimes you have it and sometimes you're the other side of it."
WERE YOU SURPRISED BY THE WAY THE RACE PLAYED OUT? "Usually you have a lot of green-flag racing in middle part of the race, so it played out typical Phoenix. It's just one of those things. I just we had a little bit better car on the short runs; we just couldn't go anywhere on the short runs."
KENNY WALLACE-22-AutoZone Ford Taurus (Finished 14th)
"I felt like we were going to finish 12th or 13th, and we put a couple of pounds of air in the tires at the end there to try to get a quick sprint and we ended up losing a spot. It's sad to say that that was as good of a run that we've had in the last couple of months, but it was. We've just got our work cut out for us over the wintertime. We're going into Homestead trying to hold on to sixth in the points."
JON WOOD-47-Clorox/Wisk Ford Taurus (Finished 33rd)
WHAT HAPPENED? "Obviously, it was something on that restart. Somebody got in the back of me, and I'm not real sure who it was. It was unfortunate because we had a decent car. We ran in the top 15 all day, so it's a little bit frustrating to be sitting here right now watching the rest of the race. I can't complain because we had a decent car and we just got taken out."
