BRIAN VICKERS BACK IN THE NO.10 FORT MCDOWELL CAMRY AT PHOENIX INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY:
* Brian Vickers will pilot the No.10 Fort McDowell Resort Destination Camry in the Arizona Travel 200 this weekend. It will be his first race with the team since Kansas Speedway when he brought home a ninth place finish, his third top-10 finish for the No.10 Braun Racing team in five races. Dave Blaney will take the wheel next weekend in the 2007 season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
* Vickers, the 2003 NASCAR Busch Series Champion, has logged two Busch Series starts at Phoenix International Raceway. In 2002, Vickers started 39th and finished 11th and in 2003 he improved those stats by starting sixth and finishing third. He also has six Nextel Cup starts at the Avondale, Arizona 1-mile oval to his credit, including one top-10 finish in 2005.
* As the season winds down and only three races remain, the No.10 Braun Racing team is proud of their accomplishments this season. In 33 races to date they've collected 11 top-10 and three top-five finishes. They have also logged 14 top-10 starts including one pole at California Speedway when they made history by capturing Toyota Camry's first pole! Competing with six different drivers this season, crew chief Trent Owens led four of them to top-10 finishes. The No.10 Camry has been in contention for wins several times this year. The team hopes they can reach that goal before the 2007 season is out!
VICKERS ON RACING AT PHOENIX INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY:
"This is my last Busch Series race of the season with Braun Racing and the 10 crew, so we all want to make the most of it. Phoenix has been a good racetrack for me personally. I've really appreciated the opportunity to work with Trent and this team, so I'd be disappointed if we're not competitive and have another shot to win this weekend. It would be a nice way to finish the season after how well we've ran together this year."
The No. 10 Fort McDowell Resort Destination team will compete with chassis #21 in Saturday's Arizona Travel 200. Brian Vickers raced this car to a sixth place finish at Richmond International Raceway in September. Dave Blaney competed with this chassis at Gateway and New Hampshire where he finished 35th in both races.
