MIAMI (October 31, 2000) -- The Miami 300, the 200 NASCAR Busch Series season finale, will have a new starting time, Homestead-Miami Speedway officials announced today. The race will take the green flag at 1:10 p.m., 20 minutes earlier than previously announced.

The change was made to accommodate NBC Sports, which will air the race live, followed by the Notre Dame football game.

"We are happy to welcome back NBC Sports for live national coverage of both our NASCAR Busch and NASCAR Winston Cup series races," said Curtis Gray, President of Homestead-Miami Speedway. "We encourage our guests to arrive early to take advantage of the many family activities at the Speedway, and watch the final Winston Cup qualifying and final practice."

Weekend activities begin at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, Lennox Pole Day, with opening practice and qualifying for both the NASCAR Winston Cup and Busch Series.

Saturday's schedule opens at 8:30 a.m. with NASCAR Winston Cup practice, followed by final qualifying to set the 43-car field for Sunday's Pennzoil 400 presented by Discount Auto Parts. "Happy Hour," the final Winston Cup practice session, will also be held prior to the Miami 300.

The starting time for the Pennzoil 400 presented by Discount Auto Parts remains unchanged at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, November 12.
