TEAM MARINES RACING NOTES & QUOTES:
Bobby Hamilton, Jr. and the No. 25 Team Marines enter the Stacker 2 200 at Nazareth Speedway fresh of their first NASCAR Busch Series win. The win was not only the first for Hamilton, Jr., but also the first for Team Rensi Motorsports and the United States Marine Corps as an advertising partner.
Bobby Hamilton, Jr. On His First NASCAR Busch Series Victory:
"Waiting to get that first win is frustrating. Then when you do get it, you feel like this big burden has been lifted off of your shoulders. You enjoy it for a little while and then you start looking towards the next weekend and focusing on getting the next win. But I know that there will never be another one as special as last weekend. When I got home from Loudon, my dad had decorated the yard and the house with checkered flags and photos and toilet paper and there was a whole bunch of people waiting on me to get home to congratulate me. That was one of those moments I'll never forget."
Bobby Hamilton, Jr. on Nazareth:
"I like the track because it's different and has its own unique characteristics. It's next to impossible to get the car to handle perfectly all the way around the track so you have to compromise a little bit. We're taking the same car we took last weekend to New Hampshire and I know Fred and the rest of the guys have been working hard all week to get this car ready for Nazareth. If that car runs anything like it has the last two weekends we could make it two in a row."
Fred Wanke on Nazareth:
"Nazareth is a pretty unique track. You can't really compare it to anywhere else. Each turn is different with varying degree of banking. We're going to run the same car we ran in Loudon last week and in Richmond the week before. We're not changing anything but the motor. Why should we change anything else? That car has dominated the last two races. We're focused on having a good qualifying run, holding our track position and having quick pit stops. That's the way to win a race at Nazareth."
Hamilton, Jr., who currently sits 9th in the Busch Series points standings, will pilot the same car he drove last weekend at New Hampshire International Speedway to his first NASCAR Busch Series win. It is also the car he drove in Richmond, in which he dominated for 158 laps before a fuel pick up problem cost him the win with just eight laps to go.
Hamilton, Jr. will be at the Team Marines Racing souvenir trailer on Sunday, May 19, 2002 from 9:30m to 10:00am signing autographs and greeting fans.
