JASON KELLER-57-Albertsons Ford Taurus (Qualified 2nd):
TALK ABOUT YOUR SEASON TO DATE. "It started off extremely well. It was my best at Daytona and we went off to Rockingham and won. We've hit a little bit of a slump, and we have been making some mistakes. And those are the types of mistakes that you can't make. I feel like the performance of our race cars is extremely good and I hopefully that that continues and we can put away a little bit of a slump on pit road and stay aggressive with the race cars and win some more races."
HOW CLOSE ARE THE SETUPS IN THE TWO CARS? "They're always real close, but you have to ask those questions to the crew chiefs because I don't think neither one of these two drivers knows the exact thing. I know that they are real close. I talked to Harold, Scott's crew chief, and my crew chief, Steve Addington, before qualifying and I know we were pretty close, but as to the specifics, I don't know."
WILL PASSING BE A PROBLEM IN THE RACE? "I raced around a couple of cars this morning and there seemed to be some good passing. I didn't try to make it two-wide getting into the corner, but you can pass cars and move around. I think the race track layout can hold the speeds of a rhythm right now. I don't foresee it to be any problem."
MORE KELLER. "Just a little bit something about the groove on the race track. I overshot the corner a couple of times this morning and you can run up the race track and there's still grip there. Whereas last year, before the race track was ground, there was no grip there and if you ran out of the groove, you were pretty much done for. The facility is exceptional, and it will definitely have two grooves. I think the car that wins will run around the bottom. I don't think they'll run up the race track. It's the same with Dover, to win you have to be right around the bottom, but you can run on top if you need to or if you're just having trouble."
DO YOU THINK THAT THE POLE SPEED WAS FASTER THIS YEAR BECAUSE OF THE SURFACE? "It's definitely because of the surface, there's no doubt about it. It has so much more grip now, whereas last year if you tried to go down into the corner, it had no grip. Talking to Scott, I think I learned a lot because the race track is more like it is now when the trucks ran here, so I kinda came here with a little bit different mindset from when we raced here and more like what Scott had with the trucks. So Scott's talking about the knowledge we bring to the race track, but Scott brings an awful lot, too, especially at these race tracks that he's run and with the trucks before."
SCOTT RIGGS-10-Nestle Nesquik Ford Taurus (Qualified 3rd):
WILL PASSING BE A PROBLEM IN THE RACE? "I think that the way the surface is on the race track, there is a lot grip there and it's real easy to get rubber down pretty quick and I think you'll see a second groove on the race track really early in the race, probably the first lap with Jason as soon he shoots up there on the outside and tells us all about. I think the way the race track in the truck race last year, it has a lot of grip and it will be safe and fast, good racing."
