Ashton Gray Racing; Jason White Looking For '06 Debut At Nashville
LEBANON, Tennessee (June 7, 2006) - - Ashton Gray Racing owned by Dwayne Gaulding and Barry Tudor head into Saturday's Federated Auto Parts 300 at Nashville Superspeedway looking to put their No. 08 GunBroker.com Dodge on the map and produce strong results in their first start of the 2006 NASCAR Busch Series season.
While the regular competitors on the NBS have endured 14 grueling races, AGR has spent that time testing, building racecars and adding top-notch personnel with the intention of unloading this weekend as a professional-based operation.
Driving the No. 08 GunBroker.com Dodge this weekend is Jason White. White, a native of Virginia is no stranger to Nashville Superspeedway and remains confident that his rookie team will unload as strong as any other team.
"We're looking forward to this weekend's race at Nashville," said White, a former NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series competitor. "This team has really spent the time and effort into making us capable of winning races. I'm just the lucky guy that gets to drive the GunBroker.com machine. We are all looking forward to this weekend."
Sponsoring the team this weekend is GunBroker.com. GunBroker.com is the world's largest online auction of firearms and accessories. Founded in 1999, GunBroker.com promotes responsible gun ownership.
Third-party sellers list items on the site, and every buyer or seller must be legally allowed to own firearms. Ownership policies and regulations are followed using licensed firearms dealers as transfer agents. The site is an informative, detailed, secure and safe way to buy and sell firearms and hunting and shooting accessories. GunBroker.com is similar in operation to the well-known auction site, eBay0x2122, although not affiliated in any way.
"Our goal is to give GunBroker.com an experience like none other," said Ashton Gray Racing co-owner Gaulding. "GunBroker.com shows the professionalism and enthusiasm that our team welcomes and we plan to take them to the front in the NASCAR Busch Series."
White continued, "Having GunBroker.com onboard this weekend is huge. I think we've put together an impressive package all the way around and I feel we have a chance of giving them the exposure they want and deserve."
"Nashville is a big race," explained Gaulding. "There are a lot of entries this weekend and we're not locked into the field, so we are preparing to strongly fight our way into the field. Nashville is known for being the "Music City" and we hope to make some noise of our own this weekend."
Nashville marks the first of five races as the primary marketing partner for the AGR team led by crew chief Steve Kuyendall. The remaining four events will be determined at a later date. Arrington Racing Engines will provide the horsepower this weekend.
Rolling into Nashville, White has three starts to his resume at the 1.333-mile facility with a career best finish of 17th at Nashville Superspeedway (June 2003) while holding a best start of 29th (June 2003).
The Federated Auto Parts 300 (225 laps/300 miles) is the 15th of 35 events on the 2006 NASCAR Busch Series schedule. This weekend's race consists of a one-day show. Practice begins Saturday, June 10th at 8:30am with a rookie practice to follow at 9:45am with qualifying set for 4:00pm live on SPEED. FX will air the event live beginning at 6:30PM CST, with MRN handling the airwaves also starting at 6:30 PM CST. The race will also be available via XM radio channel 144 launching at 6:30pm. CST
