Bill is Back! -- NEXTEL Cup Series veteran, Bill Elliott will make his first start of the 2005 NBS season this Saturday at the Nashville SuperSpeedway. Elliott, will pilot the No. 64 Miller High Life Light Dodge owned by legendary NEXTEL Cup Series driver, Rusty Wallace for two events in the 2005 season; Nashville and Milwaukee. Elliott's only start in the NBS in 2004 was at Memphis Motorsports Park where he qualified on the outside pole and finished 20th.
Testing 1, 2, 3 -- Bainbridge and his Miller High Life team will be testing with veteran driver, Bill Elliott at the Milwaukee Mile next Monday and Tuesday. The two-day test will be an attempt for the team to gain valuable knowledge for their upcoming race at the Mile on June 25th, where Elliott will make his second start for the RWI Racing organization.
Where's Mayfield? -- Mayfield will return to the seat of the No. 64 Miller High Life Light Dodge at Daytona International Speedway in July. He will drive seven more races throughout the 2005 season with RWI Racing; including Chicago, Michigan, California, Dover, Kansas, Texas and Homestead.
Chassis No. 02 -- Blake Bainbridge and his MHLL team will take Chassis No. 02 to the track this weekend in Nashville. This car carries a significant amount of history for the RWI organization; it's the first car that was ever built by the team during it's inception in 2004 and it was also the first car to win a race for RWI at Darlington in Nov. 2003 with Cup Series driver, Jamie McMurray. The team put a new body on the car this winter and ran it at Texas, Atlanta and Darlington where it posted finishes of 28th (engine), ninth, and 40th (accident), respectively.
Chasing the Championship -- The RWI Racing, Inc No. 64 will make a run at the 2005 Owner's Championship for the first time since their inception in 2004. The team will attempt to win the owner's trophy with four different drivers throughout the 35-race schedule. Only one other time in the history of the NBS has the driver/owner championship been won by two different teams; the RCR organization did it with drivers Kevin Harvick and Johnny Sauter in 2003.
Blake Bainbridge on racing at Nashville--
"I'm looking forward to going back to Nashville. We ran pretty consistent there in the first race with Jamie. I think we started in the top-10 and finished 11th. The car that we're taking has been a good car for us. We rebuilt it this winter and ran it in three or four races so far this year. We had a good weekend last week with Jamie finishing third at Dover and we're looking to carry that momentum through to this weekend's race in Nashville."
Bainbridge on working with Bill Elliott--
"I'm really excited to be working with Bill. I think we have a really good car for this weekend's race and a good chance at sitting on the pole with this car. Bill has 44-Cup Series wins, so he's a proven winner and carries a lot of experience with that. I'm looking forward to bringing Miller High Life a solid top-five finish this weekend with Bill."
