David Stremme returns to Nashville Superspeedway
Confident he has strong shot at his first win
SPARTANBURG, SC (June 3, 2003) -- Yellow Transportation prides itself on providing its customers with the best-in-class service, quality, value and speed. Team Yellow driver David Stremme is excited about returning to Nashville Superspeedway for all of these reasons. His first performance at Nashville was outstanding with a seventh place finish. The performance of Team Yellow was also top quality with quick pit stops helping Stremme to gain track position. In fact, the total team effort helped Stremme take home top rookie honors.
Stremme said, "I feel pretty good going back to Nashville because it's one of the tracks that I have been to before and feel I can be a stronger team member now that I have some experience there. The team knows that we have a setup that we run well on there and we expect be able to find ways to improve upon that a little.
"Working with the team, I learned a lot in that first race. Not only did I learn about how aerodynamics affect the car there, I learned what line I need to drive in order to be competitive. I know that Team Yellow will give me a great car and they will produce quick pit stops. All I have to do is be the first one across the finish line and I'll have done my part for the team. I'm looking forward to going back because I won't be questioning myself about whether I am doing anything wrong like driving the wrong line or letting off the throttle too early because I have 225 laps of race experience behind me.
"I had the opportunity to meet some of the Yellow employees last weekend at Dover and it really makes me feel good to know that I have so much support. I want to make everyone proud of this team. My family and friends, the Team Yellow fans, and most of all the employees of Yellow Transportation that are so incredibly supportive of Team Yellow. I'm going to Nashville Superspeedway this weekend to try and win for all of them."
Be sure to watch Team Yellow compete in this week's Track Adkins Chrome 300 at Nashville Superspeedway. The race will be aired live on FX and broadcast live on MRN beginning at 6:30 p.m. EDT on Saturday, June 7, 2003. Qualifying for the event will take place Friday, June 6 at 5:05 p.m. EDT and will be aired on Speedchannel.
